Jennifer Harmon, a respected actress known for her work on both Broadway and television, has died at the age of 82, according to a brief obituary confirming her passing. Born on December 3, 1943, in Pasadena, California, she built a career that spanned decades, earning admiration for her talent and dedication. While many fans knew her from daytime television, she became equally celebrated on the stage.

Her television breakthrough came with How to Survive a Marriage in 1974 and 1975, but wider recognition followed when she portrayed Cathy Craig Lord on One Life to Live from 1976 to 1978. The performance earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and established her as a familiar face in soap operas. She later appeared in Another World, Loving, and Guiding Light, gaining a reputation for bringing depth and elegance to every role.

Broadway became the heart of Harmon’s career, where she appeared in an impressive 21 productions. She starred in The School for Scandal in 1966 and returned for its 1995 revival, creating a memorable full-circle moment. Her stage credits also included Blithe Spirit, The Little Foxes, Amy’s View, and The Glass Menagerie, with Other Desert Cities marking her final Broadway performance in 2011.

Beyond leading roles, Harmon shared the stage with acclaimed performers such as Stockard Channing, Judi Dench, and Jessica Lange, while continuing television appearances in series including Dallas, Law & Order, and The Good Wife. Fans and colleagues have remembered her as “a steady and graceful performer” who brought professionalism and warmth to every production.
