Fox News has once again topped the ratings, outpacing competitors MSNBC and CNN. The network celebrated its third-highest-rated year ever in cable news history for total day viewers, maintaining its position as the number one cable network for the past seven years in both primetime and total day viewership.

Politically Diverse Audience and Younger Viewers

What sets Fox News apart is its ability to attract a politically diverse audience. Nielsen/MRI Fusion data shows that more Democrats, Independents, and Republicans tune in to Fox News than any other network. Additionally, Fox News draws the most viewers in the 25-54 age group, capturing an impressive 53% share of this demographic during total daytime viewership.

Innovative Programming and High Ratings

Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott credits their success to innovative news and opinion programming that resonates with a diverse cable news audience. Among the network’s successful shows, ‘The Five’ stands out. This 5 PM ET program made history by becoming the first non-primetime cable show to rank number one in viewership for an entire year, attracting 3,432,000 viewers in 2022 and 465,000 in the 25-54 demographic.

Engaging Content and Future Prospects

‘The Five’ captivates audiences with its unique format and diverse panel of hosts offering insightful perspectives on major stories. With its strong viewership, it has become a must-watch for cable news enthusiasts. Fox News’s commitment to delivering innovative programming across various topics ensures its continued dominance and appeal to viewers of all political affiliations in the years to come.
