For eight years I pretended to be a struggling handyman to please my wife Isabella and her arrogant family. When we married I was actually the chief executive officer and founder of Apex Property Solutions a massive construction empire. Isabella begged me to hide my wealth to protect the fragile ego of her father Frank who struggled to hold down a job. To keep the peace I hired Frank along with her brothers Caleb Jordan and Ryan and eventually forty seven extended family members. I endured endless insults from Frank and her mother Susan while paying their inflated salaries and quietly saving their home from foreclosure The illusion shattered during a massive Christmas Eve party at the home of my wife. A broken water pipe at a commercial property delayed my arrival so I sent my teenage daughter Mackenzie ahead to celebrate. Hours later Mackenzie called me in tears because Frank had locked her outside in the freezing snow after she defended my honor against his cruel jokes. I rushed to the house and rescued my shivering child from the porch before confronting the family. Instead of apologizing Isabella dramatically handed me signed divorce papers in front of everyone while Frank mocked my truck and ordered me to leave
