My mother-in-law dismissed my three-day-old baby turning blue as “just a cold” and convinced my husband I was “hallucinating for attention.”

My three day old son Ethan was gasping for air and turning blue while my husband Mark simply stood frozen in our bedroom doorway. My controlling mother in law Vivian immediately dismissed the terrifying situation as mere postpartum hysteria and physically blocked me from calling emergency services. To my absolute horror she proudly announced that she had confiscated my emergency credit card to fund an extravagant Hawaiian vow renewal ceremony for herself. Mark weakly sided with his mother to avoid conflict and left me completely stranded while they rolled their luxury suitcases out the door for their stolen vacation. Desperate to save my infant I used a panic button on my smartwatch to contact my best friend Lena who works as an emergency room physician. I ran barefoot to the house of my neighbor to use their phone and successfully summoned an ambulance within six minutes. At the hospital Lena treated Ethan for a severe undiagnosed heart condition while I provided police with the indoor security camera footage of Vivian blocking my attempt to call 911. While my child fought for his life in the intensive care unit I watched Mark and Vivian post joyful vacation photos funded entirely by my stolen money. Tragically Ethan passed away on the third day due to the fatal delay in his medical treatment.
