I Put Aluminum Foil in My Dryer With Wet Towels for the First Time — Here’s What Happened

For over 20 years, my laundry routine never changed. Each week, I followed the same steps—washing, drying, and folding—without questioning if there was a better method.

One day, I came across a simple tip: placing a ball of aluminum foil in the dryer. It sounded strange, but since it was cheap and easy, I decided to try it.

I had a few minor issues with my laundry. Towels were not always as soft as I wanted, and static sometimes made clothes stick together.

Curious, I made a foil ball by tightly rolling aluminum foil into a smooth, compact shape about the size of a tennis ball.

I tested it with a load of wet towels. During drying, I noticed a soft bouncing sound, but nothing unusual or disturbing.

When the cycle finished, the results surprised me. The towels felt softer, had less static, and were easier to separate and fold.

I also felt the drying process worked a bit better, possibly because the foil helped improve movement and airflow inside the dryer.

After several uses, I found this trick simple, safe, and effective. It doesn’t replace proper laundry care, but it’s an easy way to improve everyday results.
