Three Envelope Roast

If you’ve ever longed for a rich, flavorful pot roast that tastes like it simmered all day—but without the fuss of measuring spices or making gravy—meet the legendary Three Envelope Roast.

Born in Midwestern church cookbooks and passed down through generations, this recipe uses three simple packets—dry onion soup mix, ranch dressing mix, and au gratin potato mix—to create a deeply savory, herb-infused roast with its own built-in gravy and side dish. Toss everything in the slow cooker, walk away, and come back to a fork-tender, one-pot meal that feeds a crowd.

It’s humble, hearty, and undeniably delicious—the kind of dinner that fills your home with warmth and your table with comfort. Why You’ll Love This Recipe
