In a bold move to force absent lawmakers back to the Capitol, the Texas House has voted to revoke direct deposit access for Democrat members who fled the state, blocking their paychecks until they physically return. On top of that, each absent member is being fined $500 for every day they remain away, with penalties quickly stacking up and tensions running high in Austin. The standoff stems from Democrats breaking quorum to block voting legislation, creating weeks of political gridlock.
