Mariah Carey is mourning a profound loss, having lost her mother, Patricia, and sister, Alison, on the same day. “My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother,” Carey shared, adding, “Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.”

Patricia Carey, a Juilliard-trained opera singer, passed on her musical talent to Mariah, though their relationship was complicated. Mariah described their bond as “a rainbow of emotions” filled with love, pride, and pain. Despite their struggles, Mariah expressed gratitude for her final week with her mother.
