Georgia’s Heavenly Melted Toffee

This recipe creates a decadent, buttery toffee with a hint of sweetness and a delightful crunch from the nuts. It’s an ideal treat for any occasion.

  • Unsalted   – 1 cup
  • Granulated sugar – 1 cup
  • Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water – 1/4 cup
  • Pure vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Semisweet chocolate chips – 1 cup
  • Chopped pecans or almonds – 1/2 cup

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Pan:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Cook the Toffee:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Stir in sugar, salt, and water until the sugar dissolves.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract.

3. Assemble the Toffee:

  • Pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and let them soften for 1–2 minutes.
  • Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
  • Sprinkle nuts on top and gently press them in.

4. Cool and Break:

  • Allow the toffee to cool completely.
  • Break it into pieces.

Tip: For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top after the chocolate has set.
