A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 in Centennial on Wednesday evening claimed the life of Faith Winter, a Democratic state senator and senior legislative leader. The five-vehicle collision occurred shortly after 6 p.m. near E. Dry Creek Road, shutting down a section of the highway for several hours. Winter was the only fatality. Three others were injured, though authorities have not released details on their conditions as the investigation continues. The roadway reopened shortly before midnight, according to the sheriff’s office.
Colorado Senate President James Coleman and Senate Majority Leader Robert Rodriguez issued a joint statement expressing deep sorrow, describing Winter as a dedicated public servant whose commitment to Colorado and its residents never wavered.
