Crispy Fried Mushrooms

Ingredients for Crispy Fried Mushrooms

Button Mushrooms: Meaty and perfect for frying. Removing the stems ensures even coating.
Seasoned Bread Crumbs: Add crunch with built-in flavor.
Flour & Spices: A bold mix of oregano, garlic, cayenne, and thyme packs each bite with savory heat.
Egg & Milk Wash: Helps the breading stick and adds richness.
Red Chili Flakes: Optional but perfect for a spicy kick.
Vegetable Oil: Ideal for deep-frying; use enough for a crispy, golden exterior.

How To Make This Crispy Fried Mushrooms

First Step: Clean the mushrooms and sprinkle with salt. Let them sit while you set up your breading station.

Second Step: Grab three containers with lids. In the first, mix flour, oregano, garlic powder, cayenne, black pepper, salt, chili flakes, basil, and thyme. In the second, beat eggs with milk. In the third, add breadcrumbs (spice it up with more chili flakes, if desired).

Third Step: Coat mushrooms in the flour mixture, shaking in the container to cover completely. Transfer to the egg mixture, shake again, then move to breadcrumbs and shake for an even coating. Repeat until all mushrooms are breaded.

Fourth Step: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F. Fry mushrooms in small batches (about 6 at a time) for 6–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown. Allow oil to reheat between batches.

Final Step: Drain mushrooms on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy the crunch!

Storage Options

Here’s how to store your crispy fried mushrooms to keep them as fresh and crunchy as possible:
1.Cool Completely: Allow the mushrooms to cool to room temperature before storing to prevent steam from making them soggy.
2.Use an Airtight Container: Line the container with a paper towel to absorb any moisture and keep the mushrooms crispy.
3.Refrigeration: Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
4.Reheating: Reheat in an oven or air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes to restore their crispiness. Avoid microwaving, as this will make them soft and chewy.

Follow these tips, and you’ll enjoy your crispy fried mushrooms even after a few days!
