Children Learn Their 62-Year-Old Mom Is Seeing a Younger Man and Excluded Them from Her Will — Story of the Day

Gail Sutherland thought she was happy until her husband of forty years, Darrel, asked for a divorce. They had three children, and Gail had always believed in their love. Darrel, however, had fallen for a younger woman.

“It’s not that I don’t love you,” Darrel said. “I’m in love with someone else, and she makes me feel alive!”

“Alive!” Gail retorted. “So, what do I make you feel? Dead?”

Darrel admitted that Gail made him feel old. Despite their age difference, he claimed Diana made him feel youthful. Darrel left, splitting their estate, leaving Gail wealthy but lonely.

Gail decided to take a creative writing course, where she met Wallace Campion, her professor. They bonded over coffee and dinner, leading to a romantic relationship. Wallace admired her vibrant spirit, ignoring their age difference.

When her children criticized Wallace, Gail reminded them of their acceptance of Darrel’s new wife. Eventually, Gail married Wallace, finding happiness and love again.
