Elderly Teacher’s Letter Praised by Many – What Do You Think

In a straightforward letter to moms and dads, ‍a retired educator didn’t hold back. Many people‍ are⁤ now applauding it, with several saying that the last line is ⁣spot on. I⁣ just want you to check it out ⁢for yourself and ‍tell us if you think the same!

Lisa Roberson, a retired educator, ‍created quite a buzz when she chose to share her views about the situation in‌ today’s public school classrooms through writing.

Here’s what she said

“As a ⁢retired teacher, I am tired of folks who know nothing about public schools or haven’t been in a classroom lately deciding ‌how⁣ to⁣ fix our education system.

The ‍teachers aren’t the issue! Parents are the issue! They aren’t teaching their ⁤kids manners, ⁣respect or even basic knowledge of‌ how to get along with ⁤others.

The kids come to school in⁤ shoes that cost more than ⁢what‍ the teacher wears altogether but have no⁤ pencil or ⁤paper. Who gives them those? ⁢The teachers often buy them from their own money.

When⁢ you check out schools that are “failing,” look at the parents and students. Do parents attend parent nights? Do they⁤ chat with teachers often? Do they ensure their children ‍are ready by having all⁤ needed supplies? Do they make sure⁢ their kids ‍do their ⁢homework?

Do they have working phone‍ numbers? Do students take notes during‌ class? Are they doing their homework? Are‍ students‌ paying attention in class ⁤or causing disruptions?

If you consider these things, you’ll see it’s not schools failing but rather the parents. Teachers can’t do ‌both their jobs and what parents should be doing. Until parents step up and take responsibility, nothing ⁣will improve!

Do you agree⁤ with this former teacher’s ‍thoughts?

Please share this on ⁢Facebook if you feel similarly!
