I Found Strange White Spheres Beside My Bed—and I Was Terrified

After a long day at work, I came home hoping to relax, but something unusual on the floor beside my bed caught my attention. Several tiny white spheres were gathered near the bed frame, and I immediately worried they might be insect eggs or something living in my bedroom. I moved closer to examine them, wondering whether a lizard could have left them there, but I couldn’t identify them with certainty.

House geckos sometimes enter homes in search of shelter and insects. They may lay eggs in protected places, including cracks in walls, hidden corners, and gaps behind furniture. However, finding small white objects near a bed does not necessarily mean a lizard has been nesting there.

One important clue is their shape. Genuine gecko eggs are usually oval, with firm, chalky shells, and are generally laid in small numbers. If the objects are perfectly round and look almost identical, they may be something else entirely. Foam pellets from a damaged pillow or mattress, tiny plastic beads, or other manufactured materials could explain the unexpected discovery.

Before jumping to conclusions, it’s best to examine the objects carefully. Their size, texture, shape, and location can help determine what they are. Taking a close-up photograph and checking nearby bedding and furniture for damage may also provide useful clues. Avoid crushing or handling them unnecessarily, and consider contacting a pest-control professional if they appear to be genuine eggs or their identity remains unclear.

The experience is a reminder that **an unusual discovery doesn’t automatically mean something dangerous is happening.** Although finding mysterious objects in your bedroom can be unsettling, staying calm and examining the evidence is the best way to understand what’s really going on.
