Quick Maple Bars Recipe

These quick maple bars are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast treat. Made with refrigerated biscuits and a simple maple glaze, they’re a perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

For the Bars:

 

Ingredient Quantity
Buttermilk Style Biscuits (refrigerated dough) 1 (16-ounce) tube
Vegetable oil (for frying) 3 cups

For the Maple Glaze:

 

Ingredient Quantity
Light brown sugar, packed ¾ cup
Salted butter 5 tablespoons
Milk 4 tablespoons
Light corn syrup 1 ½ tablespoons
Maple extract 1 tablespoon
Confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar) 1 ¾ cups

Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Biscuits:

      • Open the tube of biscuits and separate them.
      • Roll out each biscuit into a rectangular shape.
    2. Heat the Oil:

      • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    3. Fry the Biscuits:

      • Fry the flattened biscuits in the hot oil for 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
      • Drain on paper towels.
  1. Make the Maple Glaze:

    • Combine brown sugar, butter, milk, and corn syrup in a saucepan.
    • Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble slightly.
    • Remove from heat and stir in maple extract.
    • Gradually whisk in powdered sugar until the glaze is smooth.
  2. Glaze the Bars:

    • Dip the top of each bar into the warm maple glaze.
    • Let excess glaze drip off before placing bars on a wire rack to set.
  3. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Serve warm or at room temperature.
