5-yr-old saves sister, dog from burning home then alerts rest of family

Five-year-old Noah Woods is being hailed a hero after saving his entire family of nine from a house fire.

On a Sunday morning in 2020, he woke up to flames in his bedroom, grabbed his 2-year-old sister Lily and the family dog, and escaped through the only exit — a window. After getting them to safety, Noah went back inside to alert his uncle so the rest of the family could escape. Thanks to his quick actions, all nine family members survived. Noah and a few others were treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation, but no one was seriously hurt. The fire, caused by an electrical fault, destroyed their home. In recognition of his bravery, Noah was named an honorary firefighter by the Bartow County Fire Department and awarded a Lifesaving Award.“If it wasn’t for Noah, we may not be here today,” said his grandfather, David Woods. “He saved all our lives.”
