Woman Receives Message From Her Late Son’s Phone — Story of the Day

Laughter used to fill Julia’s house, but now there was only silence. She sat at the kitchen table with a mug of cold coffee in her hands.

Across from her, Martin, her husband, mirrored her grief. They hadn’t slept much since their son, Arnold, vanished.

“Julia,” Martin began gently, “I know it’s hard. But we have to try to live with this.”

Julia looked up, her eyes red-rimmed. “How, Martin? Our boy is gone.”

He reached for her hand. “He wouldn’t want us to fall apart. We have to be strong, for him and for each other.”

Memories of their ill-fated vacation haunted Julia. They had been so happy, but one night Arnold’s tent was empty, and their world turned upside down.

The police investigation was thorough but yielded no answers. It seemed Arnold had wandered too close to the canyon edge and fallen into the river below. Despite search efforts, no trace of him was found.

Julia’s hope dwindled, but Martin’s support kept her going. They had to navigate this uncertain future together.
