Celebrated rocker Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli have a son, Wolfgang Van Halen, who recently took a significant step in his life.

The 32-year-old made a striking appearance alongside his new wife at the MusiCares Person of the Year gala on February 2 – marking the first time the couple has made a public appearance since their October wedding.

Wolfgang Van Halen’s wedding
The couple exchanged vows on October 15, 2023, in a heartfelt ceremony that was sadly missing one very important person: Wolfgang’s father, Eddie, who passed away in 2020.

Valerie, Wolfgang’s mother, played a significant role in the ceremony, escorting her son down the aisle. Although Eddie was not present, Valerie told People (who got exclusive access to the big day) that she knew he would have been immensely proud of his son’s growth and happiness.

“Ed would’ve been absolutely beaming and so, so proud of the man Wolfie has become and is becoming and so happy that he has found Andraia, someone who really understands Wolfie, who he is and who he wants to be and supports him wholeheartedly,” she said.

Wolfgang and Andraia exchanged vows in the presence of 90 guests, with the groom walking down the aisle with his mother to a song written by his late father. The couple, deeply committed to honoring their lost loved ones, incorporated heartfelt tributes into their vows and ceremony, including an empty chair for Eddie and memory charms crafted by the bride.

Amid their marital bliss, Wolfgang and Andraia have spoken about their delight about married life. Andraia told ET Online about how, since being married, Wolfgang has been home more often, with her husband chiming in with: “It’s been awesome. I love it.”

People on social media also couldn’t help but comment on how much Andraia looks like Valerie, with one person writing: “His bride looks like a young version of his mother.”

Cruel internet trolls bully Wolfgang
Despite the overwhelmingly positive response to the couple’s emotional nuptials, some online commentators focused on being nasty, choosing to comment on Wolfgang’s appearance.

“I…by no means want to sound judgemental or cruel but…I think unless he has a medical condition that causes him to carry extra weight he really should try to get healthier before he gets sick,” one person wrote.

In response to the negativity, Wolfgang’s supporters rallied to defend him and celebrate his happiness. Valerie also spoke about how happy she was that her son had married someone who truly loves him, telling People: “It brings me such a nice sense of peace knowing Wolfie and Andraia have each other for the rest of their lives. They really ‘get’ one another…”

First red carpet appearance
Wolfgang and Andraia made their first red carpet appearance as a married couple last week, exuding elegance in matching black outfits.

While Wolfgang opted for a sleek black suit, complementing his look with a pair of dark sunglasses, his wife, Andraia, chose to model a chic black dress.

I don’t know about you, but I think this couple seem like they’re truly meant for each other!
