Two old ladies Dolly and Ruby were talking about their grandchildren….

Dolly and Ruby were talking about their grandchildren. Dolly sighed, “Each year, I send my grandchildren a card with a generous cheque inside. I never hear from them… no thank you, no message, nothing.”

Ruby, listening with a knowing smile, replied, “I also send my grandchildren very generous cheques, but I hear from them within a week after they receive it.”

Surprised, Dolly asked, “Really? How do you manage that? I would love to hear from mine.”

Ruby chuckled and leaned in closer, “Well, it’s simple. I don’t sign the cheque.”

Dolly gasped, then burst into laughter. “You’re serious? Does that actually work?”

Ruby nodded, amused by the reaction. “Absolutely. As soon as they get the cheque, they call me right away. Sometimes they even pay me a personal visit to get it sorted. It works every time!”

Dolly, still laughing, said, “Well, that’s a clever trick! Maybe I’ll try that next year.”

In this witty exchange, Ruby reveals her playful yet effective strategy for staying connected with her grandchildren. While Dolly sends signed cheques without a response, Ruby’s approach ensures her grandchildren call or visit her. It’s a humorous reminder that sometimes a little mischief can keep family ties strong. This lighthearted solution shows that Ruby’s love for her family is still at the heart of the gesture, even if it comes with a clever twist.
