Dolly and Ruby were talking about their grandchildren. Dolly sighed, “Each year, I send my grandchildren a card with a generous cheque inside. I never hear from them… no thank you, no message, nothing.”

Surprised, Dolly asked, “Really? How do you manage that? I would love to hear from mine.”

Ruby chuckled and leaned in closer, “Well, it’s simple. I don’t sign the cheque.”

Dolly gasped, then burst into laughter. “You’re serious? Does that actually work?”

Ruby nodded, amused by the reaction. “Absolutely. As soon as they get the cheque, they call me right away. Sometimes they even pay me a personal visit to get it sorted. It works every time!”

Dolly, still laughing, said, “Well, that’s a clever trick! Maybe I’ll try that next year.”
