Meghan King Loses Custody of Three Children Following CPS Investigation
Meghan King, former star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, has lost custody of her three children with ex-husband Jim Edmonds, multiple reports indicate.
The 41-year-old reality television alum reportedly lost custody in recent months following an investigation by Child Protective Services, which was initiated after a school employee raised concerns about King, sources told TMZ on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Under the current arrangement, King has been granted supervised visitation, while Edmonds has been awarded sole physical custody of the children, according to Us Weekly, which first reported the development. The custody decision is temporary, with a court hearing scheduled for early December to determine whether the arrangement will become permanent.Representatives for Edmonds declined to comment when contacted. King has not responded to requests for comment.
King and Edmonds separated in 2019 after five years of marriage, with their divorce finalized in May 2021. The couple shares three children: daughter Aspen, 8, and 7-year-old twins Hart and Hayes. Edmonds married his current wife, Kortnie Edmonds, in September 2022; the pair went public with their relationship in April 2020 and became engaged in July 2021.
Tensions between King and her ex-husband have continued since the divorce, most recently erupting in a September incident involving Edmonds’ current wife and local police. According to bodycam footage from the Frontenac Police Department obtained by Us Weekly, King told officers that Edmonds had been “emotionally abusive” during a confrontation at his Missouri home on May 1.
Kortnie, 40, called 911 following the altercation, reporting that King had allegedly entered their residence without permission and was “causing a disturbance,” according to the police report obtained by the outlet.
