President Trump Provides Key Update After Plane Crash

President Donald Trump addressed the tragic midair collision at Reagan National Airport on Thursday, confirming that there were no survivors.

He offered condolences to the victims’ families, calling it a moment of “anguish.” Trump appointed Christopher Rocheleau as acting FAA commissioner, praising his experience and leadership.

The president criticized Pete Buttigieg, former Transportation Secretary, calling him a “disaster” and blaming his focus on diversity for the mishandling of the Department of Transportation. Trump also raised concerns on Truth Social about the incident, questioning why the helicopter didn’t adjust its course during the clear night and why air traffic control didn’t intervene. U.S. Figure Skating confirmed that several athletes and coaches were aboard the flight.
