Neighbors Kept Their Distance after I Moved In, until I Found Out the Shocking Reason – Story of the Day

I moved into a new suburb hoping for a fresh start, but I was met with coldness from my neighbors. They avoided eye contact, and I felt isolated. One afternoon, while watering my flowers, I saw a young girl fall off her bike. I rushed to help, but her mother yelled at me, accusing me of harming her. Confused and hurt, I noticed Jules, a peculiar neighbor, watching and quickly crossing the street.

I decided to host a party to break the ice. I spent the day preparing food and decorating, but no one showed up. Just as I was about to clear the table, Jacob, a neighbor, arrived and revealed the truth: my house had a bad reputation due to the previous tenant’s mysterious disappearance. Jacob had spread these rumors to lower the house price.

When the neighbors discovered this, they apologized, and I was finally welcomed into the community.
