My Grandma Sat in Front of the Laptop Like This for Weeks — If Only I Knew What She Was Doing There

I should’ve known something was up when my grandma started spending hours on her laptop. Her secret plan would bring an unexpected guest back into my life, reopening old wounds.

At first, I thought she was watching soap operas. One evening, I caught her giggling at the screen. “Gran, what’s so funny?” I asked. She quickly closed the laptop, replying, “Nothing, dear. Just chatting with an old friend.”

A few days later, Gran announced, “We’re having a special guest for dinner tomorrow. I want you to be here.” The next evening, the doorbell rang. I opened it to find Jason, my first love, standing there. “Jason?” I managed. “Long time no see,” he replied.

After dinner, I confronted Gran. “Why is Jason here?” She smiled. “I just want you to be happy, dear.” She explained how she found Jason after learning he changed his last name.

Later, I discovered Jason’s troubled past. Gran admitted she didn’t tell me to protect me. Jason confirmed the story in a heartfelt email. We began texting, reconnecting over shared memories.

Gran advised, “Life doesn’t wait for the perfect moment. Seize happiness when it comes.” Taking her words to heart, Jason and I decided to give our relationship another try.

As we navigated our rekindled relationship, Gran’s health declined. Despite everything, her wisdom and love guided me. Jason and I faced our fears and uncertainties, ready to embrace whatever the future held, together.
