My Colleague Suggested We Buy a Joint $2,000 Gift for Our Boss and Now Refuses to Pay Her Share

Rachel agrees to buy a $2,000 watch for their boss after Emily promises to split the cost. But when Emily refuses to pay her share, Rachel is left struggling with the financial burden. Determined to expose Emily’s deceit, Rachel devises a clever plan.

“That’s a lot of money, Emily,” Rachel sighed. “It’s just… that’s a huge expense.”

“Absolutely! We’ll split it, and I promise to pay my half as soon as possible,” Emily insisted.

Despite her hesitation, Rachel agreed, hoping Emily would keep her word. But when the boss’s birthday came, Emily took all the credit.

“Rachel, this is an investment in our future here,” Emily said, trying to convince her. “Imagine the impression we’ll make!”

Rachel reluctantly agreed, only to find Emily flaunting the gift as her idea. “See, Rachel? I told you he’d love it,” Emily gloated.

When Emily refused to pay, Rachel decided to take action. She subtly sabotaged Emily’s presentation and anonymously informed a client of Emily’s rude behavior. The client canceled, and Emily’s reputation began to crumble.

Rachel exposed Emily further by circulating their email exchange where Emily promised to pay. The office buzzed with whispers of Emily’s deceit. Finally, Rachel printed the emails and placed them on key desks, including HR’s. Emily’s popularity plummeted, and she was demoted.

Mr. Johnson, realizing the truth, returned the watch to Rachel, symbolizing her true contribution. Rachel’s efforts to expose Emily’s dishonesty had paid off, bringing her ultimate petty revenge on her two-faced colleague.
