According to an exclusive source speaking to PEOPLE, Miley Cyrus was unaware of any drama involving her mother Tish Cyrus, sister Noah Cyrus, and Tish’s new husband, Dominic Purcell.

“Miley had no idea about the drama with Dominic. No idea at all,” the insider claims. Following the recent revelation that Noah, 24, and Purcell, 54, had dated before Purcell married Tish, 56, Miley confronted her mom about it, finding the situation strange but wanting her mom to be happy.

Representatives for Miley, Tish, Noah, and Purcell did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Before Noah’s mom pursued a relationship with Purcell, Noah and Purcell had a casual relationship, according to a source. Tish knew about this, but Noah was never given the chance to discuss it before her mom’s marriage to Purcell.

Tish and Purcell got married on August 19, 2023, in Miley’s backyard, with Noah absent. Noah had announced her engagement to Pinkus, a fashion designer, in June 2023.

After Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from Tish in April 2022, Tish and Purcell got married more than a year later. The divorce was reportedly tough for their children, including Brandi, Miley, and Noah, along with sons Trace and Braison.

Billy Ray also has a son, Christopher Cody, from a previous relationship.
