Man d.ies after being licked by his dog

Man in Dong Nai Dies of Rabies After Dog Licks Open Wound. A 54-year-old man in Dong Nai, Mr. N.K.H., died of rabies after being licked on an open wound by a dog suspected of carrying the virus. Despite the risk, he did not seek post-exposure vaccination or anti-rabies serum.

The dog became aggressive weeks later, killing two other dogs before Mr. H. put it down. On July 10, he developed symptoms like hydrophobia and light sensitivity. Despite hospitalization, he died seven days later. Tests confirmed rabies.

Nearby, 40 unvaccinated pets roam freely. Another unvaccinated dog in the area recently bit four people and tested positive for rabies.

Authorities urge stricter pet control, vaccination, and penalties for violations to prevent further outbreaks.
