I Wanted to Surprise My Mother with a Visit, but Was Shocked to See My Ex-husband Sleeping in Her Bedroom

I wanted to surprise my mom on her birthday, but the real surprise was on me. When I opened the bedroom door, I found my ex-husband asleep in her bed! Could they be… together?

I decided to surprise my mom with daisies for her birthday. When I got to her house, I was shocked to find men’s shoes by the door and snoring coming from her bedroom. Nervously, I peeked in and saw my ex-husband, Luther, in her bed. My heart sank.

Mom explained that Luther, drunk and heartbroken, had shown up the night before, thinking I still lived there. She let him crash on the couch, but he must have wandered into her bed. “He said he made the biggest mistake of his life letting you go,” she explained.

I decided to wake him up by pouring ice water on his face. He apologized profusely and admitted his regrets about our divorce. “I never stopped loving you,” he said, tears in his eyes.

After a lot of talking, therapy, and dating again, we remarried a year later. Now, we’re happier than ever with two kids.
