The narrator recounts a seemingly ordinary grocery trip that took a disturbing turn. They bought a pack of regular sausages, ate a few pieces, and stored the rest in the refrigerator overnight. Nothing seemed unusual at first. However, the next morning, while preparing breakfast, the knife struck something unexpectedly hard inside one of the sausages. Thinking it might be frozen, the narrator tried slicing again, only to feel the same resistance.
Upon closer inspection, they noticed something metallic glinting from within. Carefully cutting open the sausage, they discovered a USB flash drive embedded in the meat. Shock and disgust set in as they realized they had already eaten from the same package. The idea that a foreign object could be sealed inside store-bought food was unsettling and inexplicable.
Driven by both fear and curiosity, the narrator decided to examine the contents of the flash drive. When plugged into a computer, it contained a single folder titled “OPEN ME.” Inside was one image — a photograph of a man staring directly at the camera, laughing. The unsettling nature of the photo sent chills down the narrator’s spine.
They considered several explanations — a manufacturing error, a prank, or something more sinister — but none made sense. The idea that someone had deliberately placed the device inside food raised more questions than answers.
