Later that same evening, their son, 32-year-old Nick Reiner, was located in South Los Angeles near the University of Southern California and taken into custody around 9:15 p.m. Police confirmed he is being held on suspicion of murder while investigators continue to gather evidence.Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell described the case as “a tragic incident,” adding, “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the Reiners during this incredibly difficult time.”

According to multiple sources, the disagreement allegedly occurred at a Christmas party hosted by Conan O’Brien on Saturday evening.

Reports indicate that Nick Reiner left the event afterward and checked into a hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning. Per TMZ, he arrived at The Pierside Hotel in Santa Monica at approximately 4 a.m., using his credit card to secure a room. Hotel records reportedly show that he never formally checked out.
