Hamburger Potato Casserole

This hearty and comforting Hamburger Potato Casserole is a classic dish that’s perfect for a family dinner or a potluck. The layers of creamy mushroom soup, savory ground beef, and cheesy potatoes make for a satisfying and flavorful meal.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground beef 1 1/2 pounds
Russet potatoes 4 large, peeled and thinly sliced
Onion 1 medium, chopped
Cheddar cheese 2 cups, shredded
Cream of mushroom soup 1 can (10.75 oz), condensed
Milk 3/4 cup
Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
Paprika 1 teaspoon
Salt and pepper To taste
Olive oil 2 tablespoons
Parsley Fresh, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

    1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    2. Prepare ingredients: Peel and slice potatoes. Chop onion. Shred cheddar cheese.
    1. Brown ground beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion. Cook until browned and onion is softened. Drain excess grease.
    2. Prepare casserole layers: In a small bowl, mix together cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the browned ground beef mixture and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
    3. Pour soup mixture: Pour the prepared soup mixture evenly over the casserole layers.
  1. Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  2. Garnish and serve: Remove foil and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
