1. Cook the Bacon

  • In a large skillet over low heat, cook bacon slowly until crispy.
  • Transfer to a plate and roughly chop once cooled.
  • Pour bacon drippings into a small bowl and wipe the skillet clean.

2. Prepare the Chicken

  • Slice chicken breasts into 2–3 thinner pieces each.
  • Pat dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings (or oil) in the skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes, then cut into bite-sized cubes.

3. Boil the Pasta

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions.
  • Drain and set aside.

4. Make the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Sauté garlic for 1 minute.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 more minute, stirring constantly.
  • Warm half and half in the microwave for 40 seconds, then add to the skillet gradually, stirring continuously.
  • Bring to a gentle bubble, then reduce heat to low.
  • Stir in ranch seasoning and gradually add shredded cheese until melted and smooth.

5. Combine and Serve

  • Add cooked pasta to the sauce and gently stir to coat.
  • Add chicken and stir until heated through.
