Kosar, who turned 62 on Nov. 26, shared that he was at University Hospitals in a post to X on Sunday, but said he was “keeping the vibes positive as always” for Browns game day.“Game day good morning. Trying to stay positive, but obviously a little bummed,” Kosar said in a video. “Let’s have a winning day. You matter. Go Browns.”

No further updates about Kosar’s health were immediately available.

Kosar underwent a five-hour liver transplant surgery on Nov. 17 and was discharged from UH one week later. Upon his release, the Super Bowl champion quarterback admitted there were times in recent months where his health challenges had him considering his own mortality.

“There was no way I thought I was going to be here for my 62nd birthday,” Kosar said during a news conference upon being discharged from UH. “There was no way I thought I was going to be healthy, let alone walking out of here.

“I feel like a walking miracle,” he added.
