A cheap and simple method to keep these pests away from your home

Cockroaches are one of the most dreaded household pests. They tend to hide in dark, damp, and cool places like under the sink, in basements, or inside closets. If you’ve spotted one in your home, you’re likely already feeling frustrated and eager for a solution.

Fortunately, there’s an effective, low-cost way to get rid of roaches using just two common ingredients: 3 tablespoons of boric acid and 1 egg yolk. This DIY trick is simple to prepare and doesn’t require a professional exterminator.

Start by mixing the boric acid and egg yolk together until it forms a thick, dough-like consistency. Once your mixture is ready, scoop small amounts and shape them into balls using a spoon.

Place the bait balls on wax or parchment paper and let them dry for about an hour. After they harden, they’re ready to be placed in roach-prone areas throughout your home.

Be strategic with placement. Focus on spots where you’ve seen roach activity, such as under sinks, in closets, behind kitchen appliances, or in the corners of your basement. Roaches will be drawn to the bait, consume it, and die shortly afterward.

Important warning: Boric acid is toxic if ingested by pets or small children. Be sure to place the bait only in areas they cannot access. You may need to repeat the process after a couple of weeks to ensure all roaches and their eggs are gone. After one or two rounds, your home should be cockroach-free.

This homemade roach killer is not only affordable and easy to make but also highly effective. It’s a smart alternative to expensive treatments and can give you lasting relief from these persistent pests.
