A Dream 60 Years in the Making: 91-Year-Old Superfan Surprised with First-Ever Tom Jones Concert For 91-year-old Maureen Hesketh, a lifelong dream over six decades in the making finally came true when she saw her idol, Sir Tom Jones, perform live for the first time. The great-grandmother, who has adored the Welsh singer since his early hits, was brought to tears when her family surprised her with tickets to his December 20th concert at the AO Arena in Manchester.

Maureen’s daughter, Christine Parkinson, 65, secretly organized the night as a family gift, with everyone chipping in to make it happen. To keep the plan a secret, Christine told her mother they were going to a cathedral to hear a choir, even arranging for her to have her hair and nails done beforehand. The surprise reveal was caught on video.
