My Husband Threw a Pizza Party for His Friends When I Was Sick and Expected Me to Clean Up — He Soon Learned His Lesson

When Sandra came down with the flu, her husband, Tom, threw a pizza party for his friends and expected her to clean up. Instead of resting, Sandra had to outsmart him. Tom soon learned his lesson in an unforgettable way.

Sandra, sick in bed, heard laughter and the doorbell ringing. Tom had invited friends over. Wrapped in a blanket, she confronted him and found them eating pizza on their bed. Tom scowled and said, “Why are you out of bed?” and even told her to clean up.

Outraged and feeling unwell, Sandra called Tom’s formidable mother, Mrs. Thompson. She arrived and scolded Tom, saying, “Throwing a party while your wife is sick in bed? This is completely unacceptable!” Tom’s friends scattered, and Mrs. Thompson took charge, making them clean the entire house.

For three days, Tom and his friends scrubbed and cleaned under Mrs. Thompson’s watchful eye. Tom apologized repeatedly, realizing his mistake. Sandra recovered, and the house was spotless. Mrs. Thompson reminded Tom, “A happy wife means a happy life.”

Tom, humbled, asked Sandra what she wanted to do. She suggested a couples’ cooking class to improve teamwork and communication, turning the flu incident into a lesson in respect and partnership.
