My Wife’s Best Friend Mocked Her behind Her Back, So I Decided to Teach Her a Harsh Lesson

I’m Jake, and I’ve been with my wife Meg for over five years. Recently, we went to dinner with friends, including Meg’s best friend Bethany. As we left, I realized I’d forgotten my phone at the restaurant. Returning to retrieve it, I overheard Bethany say, “Meg is soooo pathetic! I bet Jake will be crawling to me the moment I give him a wink.”

Shocked and angry, I devised a plan. I began acting extra friendly with Bethany, texting her and giving her attention. She started flirting back, thinking she was winning me over. Eventually, she suggested we meet for coffee.

At our coffee date, I played along, making her believe I was interested. She then hinted about a future together. I knew it was time to confront her. I invited her to dinner, pretending it was to discuss our “relationship.”

At the dinner, I revealed, “Bethany, I heard what you said about Meg. You mocked my wife behind her back. You thought I’d fall for you? You’re wrong. I’ll make sure Meg never sees you again.” Bethany stormed out, humiliated.

Meg, who knew about the plan, was relieved. “She got what she deserved,” Meg said. We grew closer through this experience, learning that we could overcome anything together.
