“Florida moms call cops on sons after $50K school damage”

Two young boys in Florida now face serious legal repercussions after allegedly causing more than $50,000 in damage to their school library—a case that began when, according to authorities, their own mothers turned them in.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reported that on September 13, the 12- and 13-year-old boys broke into Friendship Elementary School in Deltona. Deputies say the pair initially accessed the campus during the day before returning under cover of night to carry out what investigators describe as a deliberate spree of destruction.Inside the school, the boys allegedly tore through the library, throwing books across the floor, overturning furniture, and defacing doors with graffiti. The situation reportedly worsened when they returned later to admire the chaos they had created, at which point the school’s fire alarm was triggered. Responding deputies discovered the media center left in a state of near-total ruin, with extensive damage throughout the facility.
