French Dip Squares are a delightful twist on the classic French Dip sandwich. They combine the savory flavors of roast beef and Swiss cheese, layered between buttery crescent rolls, and are baked to golden perfection. These squares are served with a side of beef broth for dipping, making them a perfect appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Refrigerated Crescent Rolls 2 cans
Deli Sliced Roast Beef 1/2 pound
Grated Swiss Cheese 1 cup
Dry Onion Soup Mix 1 packet
Melted Butter 1/4 cup
Worcestershire Sauce 1 teaspoon
Garlic Powder 1/2 teaspoon
Beef Broth for Dipping 1 cup

Instructions:

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
  • Prepare the Crescent Roll Base:
    • Unroll one can of crescent rolls.
    • Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, covering the entire bottom surface.
    • Press the seams together to seal.
  • Layer the Ingredients:
    • Layer the deli sliced roast beef evenly over the crescent roll base.
    • Sprinkle the grated Swiss cheese evenly over the roast beef.
  • Prepare the Seasoned Butter:
    • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and dry onion soup mix.
    • Mix well to combine.
  • Top with Second Crescent Roll Layer:
    • Unroll the second can of crescent rolls.
    • Place it on top of the cheese layer, covering the filling completely.
    • Press the seams together to seal.
  • Brush with Seasoned Butter:
    • Brush the top layer of crescent rolls with the seasoned butter mixture, ensuring that it is evenly distributed.
  • Bake in the Oven:
    • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven.
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Slice and Serve:
    • Remove the French Dip Squares from the oven.
    • Let them cool slightly before slicing into squares or rectangles.
    • Serve the squares warm with a side of beef broth for dipping.
