Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Saltine crackers 1 sleeve (approximately 40-45 crackers)
Unsalted butter 1 cup (2 sticks)
Brown sugar (packed) 1 cup
Semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 ½ cups
Peanut butter chips ½ cup
Chopped peanuts ½ cup
Sea salt (optional) A pinch

Instructions:

    1. Preheat your oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    2. Prepare a baking sheet: Line a 15×10-inch rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer, ensuring they cover the entire surface.

  1. Make the toffee: In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the brown sugar, stirring continuously until it reaches a smooth, bubbling consistency. This will take about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Pour the toffee over crackers: Carefully pour the toffee mixture over the arranged saltine crackers, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  3. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes until the toffee is bubbling and has turned a rich caramel color.
  4. Melt the chocolate: While the toffee-covered crackers are baking, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave or using a double boiler. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  5. Spread the melted chocolate: As soon as the toffee-covered crackers are done, remove them from the oven and immediately pour the melted chocolate over the top, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  6. Add peanut butter chips and peanuts: Sprinkle the peanut butter chips and chopped peanuts evenly over the melted chocolate. Press them down gently to ensure they stick.
  7. Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the candy is completely set.
  8. Break into pieces: Once the Peanut Butter Bits Cracker Candy is set, break it into bite-sized pieces, and it’s ready to enjoy!
