Apple Pie Biscuits

Apple pie biscuits have become my signature weekend breakfast—especially when family friends drop by. These buttery, cinnamon-sugar treats are always a hit, and I get requests for them more often than I can count. They’re packed with cozy apple pie flavor and come together so easily, I even serve them as an afternoon snack.

This recipe is beloved far and wide, and for good reason. The combination of flaky biscuits, warm apple filling, and sweet glaze is irresistible—especially for kids. Best of all, you can make it two ways: quick and easy with store-bought ingredients, or fully homemade when you have time to savor the process.

Item Amount Notes
Frozen or cream biscuits 8 Canned buttermilk biscuits work too

Nutmeg ⅛ tsp
Walnuts or pecans (optional) 1 cup Chopped

For the glaze:

Item Amount
Powdered sugar ½ cup
Cream 3 tbsp

🔪 Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush melted butter generously over the bottom and sides of a cast iron skillet.
  2. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Dip each biscuit in melted butter, then coat the sides with the sugar mixture.
  4. Spoon apple pie filling onto the tops of the biscuits, arranging evenly.
  5. Drizzle with extra butter and bake for 32–35 minutes, until golden and puffed.
  6. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar and cream to make the glaze.
  7. Drizzle glaze over hot biscuits right out of the oven. Double or triple the glaze if you love it extra sweet!

💡 Notes & Tips

  • Homemade apple filling is a great seasonal upgrade—especially when apples are fresh.
  • Baking time may vary depending on biscuit thickness, so keep an eye on them.
  • For a decadent twist, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • This Southern-inspired recipe is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or cozy gatherings.
