My Future In-Laws Pretended Not to Know Me during Their Lunch — a Week Later, I Taught Them a Proper Lesson

I thought I had the perfect fiancé, but his parents were a different story. They snubbed me in public, so I decided to teach them a lesson at our wedding rehearsal dinner — little did I know how this risky plan would change everything.

I’d been engaged to Nathan for a year, and everything was perfect — except for his family. From the moment I met them, they’d been frosty and passive-aggressive. But they never gave me a reason in person.

I’m Cora, a biologist in my early 30s. I live a modest life, despite my family’s wealth. Last week, while shopping for wedding stuff, I saw Nathan’s parents, Evelyn and Robert, with a young woman. I waved, but they made wry faces and ignored me. It was the last straw.

I told my best friend, Vanessa, who said, “Maybe they think you’re not good enough for their precious son.”

I had a plan. At the rehearsal dinner, my parents introduced themselves as Dr. William and Dr. Margaret Thompson. Evelyn and Robert were shocked. They needed to see me for who I am.
