Ben Stiller gives savage three-word response to Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension over Charlie Kirk comments

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show has been suspended indefinitely after controversial remarks about Donald Trump and conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kirk was fatally shot during a debate in Utah on September 10, a tragedy that has since ignited political and cultural tensions.

In his monologue following the incident, Kimmel mocked Trump’s reaction to Kirk’s death. He quipped that the former president was in the “fourth stage of grief: construction,” a jab referencing Trump’s real estate background.

Kimmel went on to criticize MAGA supporters, accusing them of politicizing Kirk’s killing. While some audiences laughed, the jokes quickly drew outrage online and across conservative media circles.

The backlash was swift and intense. ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be pulled from its lineup until further notice. The decision marked one of the most dramatic suspensions in recent late-night television history.

Adding pressure, major affiliate groups Sinclair and Nexstar refused to air the program. Both companies issued statements calling Kimmel’s comments deeply offensive and out of bounds, especially in light of the tragedy.

Sinclair outlined three conditions for Kimmel’s possible return: a direct apology to Kirk’s family, a personal donation to them and to Turning Point USA, and participation in discussions on professionalism and broadcast standards.

The suspension has sparked debate in Hollywood and politics. Several high-profile figures, including actor Ben Stiller and former president Barack Obama, have defended Kimmel, arguing his freedom of expression should be protected even when controversial.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump publicly celebrated the decision, calling it a “victory for decency.” The future of Jimmy Kimmel Live! remains uncertain, with the network, affiliates, and Kimmel himself under pressure to resolve the fallout.
