Muffuletta Sliders: A Taste of New Orleans

These Muffuletta Sliders are a fantastic way to enjoy the classic flavors of a New Orleans muffuletta sandwich in a fun, shareable format. Layers of savory Italian cured meats, two types of cheese, and a zesty olive salad are all baked on soft Hawaiian rolls until warm and melty. They make a perfect appetizer or a quick, delicious meal

Muffuletta Sliders

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Hawaiian Rolls 1 (12 oz) package
Mozzarella cheese 6 slices
Soppressata 6 slices
Mortadella 6 large slices
Capicola 6 slices
Provolone cheese 6 slices
Olive salad, homemade or store-bought 1 cup
Olive oil For brushing
Sesame seeds 2 teaspoons

How To Make Muffuletta Sliders:

  1. Prep Oven & Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Using a large bread knife, slice the entire sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected.
  2. Layer the Fillings: Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish. Layer the mozzarella, soppressata, mortadella, capicola, and provolone cheese evenly over the rolls.
  3. Add Topping & Top: Spoon the olive salad over the top layer of cheese and spread it in a thin, even layer. Place the top half of the rolls back over the fillings.
  4. Bake: Bake the sliders for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven, lightly brush olive oil over the tops of the rolls, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Return to the oven for another 4 minutes, or until the tops are lightly toasted and the cheese is melted.
