Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

These Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars are a fantastic combination of rich, buttery crust, gooey caramel, and melty chocolate. They’re easy to make and create a delightful layered dessert that’s perfect for satisfying any sweet craving.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
All-purpose flour 2 cups
Brown sugar 1/2 cup
Unsalted butter 1 cup, melted
Caramel sauce 1 cup
Chocolate chunks 1 cup
Chopped nuts 1/2 cup (optional)
Chocolate chips 1/2 cup

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish (a 9×13-inch pan works well for these bars).
  2. Make the Crust: In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and melted unsalted butter until they are well combined and form a crumbly mixture.
  3. Bake the Crust: Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust. Bake the crust for 10-12 minutes, or until it’s lightly golden around the edges.
  4. Add Caramel and Toppings (First Bake): Remove the crust from the oven. Immediately pour the caramel sauce evenly over the hot crust. Sprinkle the chocolate chunks and chopped nuts (if using) evenly over the caramel layer.
  5. Second Bake: Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly and the chocolate chunks are melted.
  6. Add Final Chocolate: Remove the bars from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Let them sit for a few minutes to melt slightly, then spread them with a spatula if you want a smooth chocolate layer.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares. This step is crucial for the bars to set properly and be easy to cut.
