My mom’s grandmother use to make these

Serves 4–6 | Prep: 20 min | Cook: 20 min | Total: ~40 min. Crispy, golden, and tangy, Fried Green Tomatoes are a Southern classic perfect as an appetizer, side, or snack.
Ingredients
4 large firm green tomatoes
2 eggs
½ cup milk
1 cup flour
½ cup cornmeal
½ cup plain breadcrumbs
2 tsp kosher salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Vegetable oil (about ½-inch deep in skillet)

Instructions
Slice: Cut tomatoes into ½-inch slices, discard ends.
Set up breading stations:
Flour in one plate
Beaten eggs + milk in another
Cornmeal, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper in a third.
Bread slices: Coat in flour, dip in egg wash, then press into crumb mix.
Heat oil: Skillet over medium-high to 350–375°F.
Fry in batches: 2–3 min per side until golden.

Drain: Transfer to paper towels before serving.
Serving ideas: With ranch, remoulade, chipotle mayo, or as a sandwich topper.
Storage: Refrigerate leftovers up to 2 days; reheat in oven or air fryer to re-crisp.
