Flaky Sausage & Cheese Crescent Rolls: The Ultimate Easy Comfort Food

Sausage & Cheese Crescent Rolls are a quick, crowd-pleasing snack or appetizer, perfect for breakfast, parties, or game day. This easy recipe yields 16 savory rolls using two cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough. The filling combines cooked breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or your preferred kind), shredded cheddar cheese, and softened cream cheese for a creamy, flavorful bite. Optional seasonings like garlic powder and black pepper add extra depth.

To begin, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until it’s browned and fully cooked, then drain and cool slightly. Mix it with the shredded cheese, cream cheese, and seasonings in a large bowl to create a rich, hearty filling.

Next, unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 16 individual triangles. Spoon about a tablespoon of the sausage-cheese mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Roll each one up toward the point, tucking in the filling, and place them seam-side down on the baking sheet to help seal them during baking.

For a golden finish, you can optionally brush each roll with a beaten egg. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese starts to bubble out slightly. The final product is best enjoyed warm and optionally garnished with fresh parsley or chives for color and flavor.

Customize the rolls to your taste by using spicy sausage, adding crushed red pepper, or trying different cheeses. These rolls freeze well and reheat perfectly in the oven or air fryer. Serve them with marinara, mustard, or ranch dressing for dipping.
