U.S. Faces Shutdown Risk as Trump Pushes for Urgent Bill Approval

A new debate has erupted in Washington D.C. as the risk of another government shutdown looms.

With past shutdowns causing service disruptions and leaving federal workers in limbo, there’s a strong sense of urgency. Congress must approve a funding bill to avoid halting government operations, with the deadline fast approaching.

The current funding mechanism, a Continuing Resolution (CR), only lasts until September 30, 2025, and failure to act could lead to a shutdown. President Trump has publicly supported the plan, urging Congress to keep the financial situation steady, though some conservative Republicans oppose the temporary measure.

If the funding bill isn’t approved, essential services could be disrupted, leading to significant economic and social consequences.
